The size and weight will make you fall in love with the worlds most favorite rifle all over again. Ideal for the PMC or Eastern look. The rifle uses stick batteries which can sports enought space for up to a 10.8v battery (not recommended). Comes with nice markings and a side mounted scope rail too. Oddly this rifle uses a car style fuse instead on the plug style. STATS
History: The AKS-74U is an assault rifle designed in the Soviet Union that was in production from the early 1980s until circa 1991. The AKS-74U (Ukorochennyj <Actinic:Variable Name = 'shortened'/>) was developed in the late 1970s from the AKS-74, a shortened variant of the AK-74. The AKS-74U is the size of, and has the effective range of, a submachine gun. Although it does utilize the Russian 5.45 mm ammunition. The rifle was intended for vehicle crews, artillery teams, and Special Forces soldiers needing small, lightweight weapons. Today the AKS-74U is found primarily amongst police, private sector guards and rear-echelon military units, with the AKS-74U being superseded among front line military units by the compact members of the AK-100 family.
